Why we started NCD MedTech
Rwanda is a country of extraordinary ambition. With one of Africa's strongest community health worker networks and a government committed to digital health, it should be leading the continent in NCD prevention. But the tools haven't kept pace with the ambition.
NCDs now account for 44% of all deaths in Rwanda. Most of those deaths are preventable caught early enough, diabetes, hypertension, and heart failure are manageable conditions. But without systematic screening, they're silent killers.
We founded NCD MedTech in 2025 to build the platform Rwanda's health system deserves: an intelligent, offline-capable, clinician-centred tool that connects every level of the health system from the CHW's phone to the Ministry of Health's national dashboard.
Sanitel is that platform. Built by a team that understands both the technology and the clinical reality on the ground because we live here.
